Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

  • Plant Daily Issues (PDI) members will support the Manufacturing Plant to resolve daily supplier-related issues and are a dedicated resource to the assigned Aisin Manufacturing Plant.
  • Support/Lead Supplier improvement activities and problem resolution with other Aisin teams.
  • PDI issues include, but are not limited to: Delivery (Order, fulfillment) issues with suppliers, Quality issues, Commercial issues (Invoice variances, Price Changes).
  • Maintain Key process indicators for roles and function.
  • Develop systems, processes and instructions for activities to meet roles.
  • Develop data systems to ease gathering of data and reporting to support roles.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by management.

Production Support Role:

  • Process Change Request (PCR) and Engineering Change Requests (ECR, ECI) coordination with the Manufacturing Plant teams and AWA Purchasing Teams (Project and Commodity).
  • Daily management, follow-ups, and reporting of open issues and activities to resolve open issues via Problem Follow-up Sheet (PFUS) for supplier quality and delivery issues.
  • Support Commodity by obtaining engineering documents for product assigned to AUM, control and identification of fixed assets.
  • Confirmation of supplier capacities to fulfill the forecast and contractual agreements for supplied product demand.

Supplier Pricing Support Role:

  • Review, Track, and Complete all price changes submitted for the NAP Site inclusive of confirmation of price change analysis, Preparation of material to update blanket purchase order, verifications of Blanket purchase order updates, calculation of retroactive payments and issuance of debit and credit memos.
  • Meet with suppliers and NAP site to communicate and resolve issues on supplier price change requests.
  • Resolve invoice price variance issues with suppliers with Site Finance team and maintain systems to track and issue necessary debit and / or credit memos.
  • Support and complete necessary reporting for piece price variance, diversity spend, projected price change impacts inclusive of accruals.
  • Audit of reports to ERP system to confirm agreement in pricing.

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for internal and external contacts
  • Ability to create effective memos and letters, spreadsheets and presentations
  • Capable of analyzing quotations, developing budgets, and understanding cost impact
  • Ability to comprehend technical and business correspondence
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing processes and blueprints
  • Strong computer skills and ability to create graphs, spreadsheets, and charts

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Experience in automotive industry with understanding of standard job functions and requirements within the industry
  • Prior purchasing experience in automotive industry or industrial environment
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience in multi-cultural environment, preferably Japanese-based
  • Fluency in English with additional language skill in Japanese, Chinese, German, and/or Spanish

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science, Engineering Technology, Business, Supply Chain Management is preferred. Non-Bachelor degreed candidates can be considered with applicable 5 years work experience.

Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 10 %
  • Willing to obtain a Passport for international travel
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
